Description:
Jungholz is Austria's smallest enclave with around 300 inhabitants. It lies in the middle of untouched nature and is known as an insider tip and starting point for unique outdoor tours.
This is a moderately difficult hiking tour up the Pfeifferberg (1457 metres) with a guarantee of wonderful views of the Allgäu and Tyrolean mountains in the most peaceful atmosphere. There are numerous places to stop for refreshments and sights to see along the way.
Directions:
The starting point of this hiking tour is the ski lift car park in Jungholz. We start from here in the direction of the church and walk along the Schnitzerweg to the district of Langenschwand, past some hosts and holiday flats. At the end of the village, keep left and follow the signs to the Alpe Stubental. Here we are always on tarred roads. Past the Stubental Alpe, we follow the signs to the Pfeifferberg. During the ascent, more and more rugged mountain peaks appear behind the forested hills to the southwest. After about 30-40 minutes we arrive at our destination, the Pfeifferberg. After a short break and enjoying the view, we return to Langenschwand along the same path. At the Langenschwand chapel, we turn right towards the Höhenweg. The panorama trail runs above Jungholz to the district of Gießenschwand. After a short break at the snowmaking pond with a view of the Allgäu Alps, we walk through the district of Gießenschwand towards the church in Jungholz, the starting point of the tour.
Tip:
Save the tour offline. Enjoy a drink with a hearty snack at the Alpe Stubental.
