Mountain biking in the Tannheimer Tal

For demanding bikers there are 15 bike trails with a total of 150 kilometres, which have been approved and uniformly signposted by the province of Tyrol. The Tannheimer Tal is also the starting point for the newly designed "Bike Trail Tirol". The large round tour with over 800 kilometres and the many liaison stages with a further 500 kilometres are designed in such a way that the bikers can put together their own personal route.

Cycle paths off the beaten track

You can get to know the surrounding area on the "Tannheimer Tal cycle path", which covers 40 kilometres of the most beautiful corners of the Tyrolean high valley. The cycle paths are off the beaten track and uniformly signposted. Via Schattwald in the direction of Rehbach you get to Ober- and Unterjoch in the Allgäu - spend a moment at the moor pond "Floschen". Or continue cycling through Tannheim and Grän on the new lakeside promenade at Haldensee to Nesselwängle. A detour to the Vilsalpsee nature reserve will certainly please you, too.

You can also have a look at the routes on our interactive map.

Where can i mountain bike in the Tannheimer Tal?

In the Tannheimer Tal you can go mountain biking wherever it is explicitly allowed. Because the Tyrolean law - unlike e.g. in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg - stipulates that mountain bike trails must be explicitly approved by contract in order to be allowed to ride on them.
In the Tannheimer Tal there are 15 scenic tours at your disposal.

Easy paths and gentle mountains - nature biking Allgäu/Tyrol

700 kilometres of Allgäu and neighbouring Tyrol at its best - this is how the new nature biking tours for pleasure bikers can be summarised in a nutshell. All tours are interconnected, have uniform signposts and run for the most part on forest and alpine paths. Single trails are at most moderately difficult and sparse. It is not a matter of mastering steep ramps and conquering summits in record time. Essentially, the cyclist moves at altitudes between 800 and 1,500 metres. Many stages lead through lush green valleys to lakes and sights.

24 varied tours from 5.5 to 50.5 km in length with different levels of difficulty, as well as the main North and South routes with up to 205 km in length, offer the perfect route for every taste and fitness level.

The overview map Naturbiken Allgäu/Tirol is available free of charge at all tourist information offices in the Tannheimer Tal.
