AB107 Lead product development mountain bike Allgäu/Tyrol

The project participants and other stakeholders in the project region want to implement a concrete concept and product development in the field of MTB. The implementation includes: uniform signposting and route marking, the creation of online and print map materials, marketing to communicate the mountain bike network.

A mountain bike trail network adapted to the topography, nature and nature conservation of the Allgäu Nature Parks Tiroler Lechtal, Nagelfluhkette and Vilsalpsee can further sharpen the existing profile, attract new target groups of cyclists to the project area and thus contribute to securing the added value from tourism. The focus is on guiding existing mountain bikers and reducing increasing conflicts between hikers and mountain bikers through concrete visitor guidance. Furthermore, the MTB trail network is to take into account the three altitudes of the project region, offering graduated degrees of difficulty and thus balancing out gender-specific differences. Explicit route markings should also show the way for families with bike trailers. Furthermore, within the framework of the project, completely uniform, cross-border route signposting including information on degrees of difficulty is planned, which is considered important and good by all project participants. Another important aspect within the project is the targeted signposting and the associated cleaning up of the existing signpost forest.
