Lots of fun for the next generation
Tobogganing in the Tannheimer Tal
Bored children on holiday? Not in the Tannheimer Tal. The high valley in the north of Tyrol is a true family paradise. Winter holidays are particularly successful when parents and children have fun together. And they can do this particularly well in the Tannheimer Tal, for example on a fun toboggan run.
There are five toboggan runs in the Tyrolean high valley.
Most of them are rather short and leisurely and are ideal for beginners.
The toboggan runs near Schattwald and in the ‘Ice Age’ Kinderland are recommended for beginners and very young guests. The toboggan run from Alpe Stubental in Jungholz has a medium level of difficulty so that families with children can also enjoy tobogganing here. The run is two kilometres long, runs over open terrain and offers a fantastic panorama of Aggenstein and Breitenberg.
And if you don't have a sledge yourself? No problem at all. The toboggan hire service at Alpe Stubental will be happy to help and you can set off straight away! Tobogganing in the dark is particularly exciting: in Haldensee, the toboggan run is open daily until 10:00 p.m. with floodlights.
Safety tips for your tobogganing adventure
To ensure your winter day in the Tannheimer Valley remains unforgettable and safe, please note the following:
- Please stay on the designated and open toboggan runs – this helps protect nature and allows the animals the peace and quiet they need.
- Check the current status of the toboggan runs in advance and only use them when they are open.
- Do not leave any litter behind and help keep the stunning mountain landscape clean.
- Always maintain control and adjust your speed to the conditions – do not underestimate the speed on the toboggan run.
- Keep a safe distance from other visitors and be particularly considerate of families and children.
- Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended for children (and adults too) – for even greater safety whilst tobogganing.
- Pull your sledge uphill at the side of the run so that everyone can use the track safely.
