Let’s work together to preserve our precious alpine landscape
Our alpine landscape is a unique treasure – a habitat for people, grazing animals and numerous wild creatures such as roe deer, red deer and capercaillie. It is both a cultural and natural space, offering us all unforgettable moments in the mountains.
To ensure this diversity is preserved for future generations, we must show care and respect when out and about in nature. Everyone can play their part in ensuring that animals, plants and people can continue to thrive freely.
Let us work together to protect this special heritage – for nature, for ourselves and for those who come after us.

Preserve Nature, Sustain the Experience
Our landscape thrives on its diversity: crisp mountain air, vibrant forests, expansive alpine meadows, and the many animals and plants that call this place home. To ensure that this valuable natural heritage remains a place of relaxation and inspiration for the future, it requires our shared attention and action. Every step in nature can be a contribution to its protection - mindful, respectful, and in harmony with the world around us.

Responsible Farming
For centuries, our farming has shaped the character of our region. It not only provides high-quality food, but also helps to preserve our diverse cultural landscape. Behind every field, every mountain pasture and every meadow are people who work with experience, care and great dedication. Together with them, we want to preserve this valuable living and economic space – sustainably, regionally and in harmony with nature.

The Tannheimer Valley is renowned for its exceptional drinking water quality: our tap water comes directly from the Tyrolean mountains and is safe to drink throughout the region. Enjoy the purest mountain water – without the need for plastic bottles.
Whilst hiking in the Tannheimer Valley or during your outdoor activities, you will find numerous fountains providing refreshment. At the marked drinking water fountains, you can easily top up your water bottle with fresh mountain water – perfect for anyone who values sustainability and local produce.
You can find more information on drinking water in Tyrol at Atlas of Tyrolean Drinking Water.

New Year’s Eve Without Fireworks in the Tannheim Valley – Together for Nature & Wildlife
In the Tannheim Valley, we celebrate the turn of the year consciously and sustainably. At midnight, instead of setting off fireworks, we focus on what truly matters: community, tranquility, and the unique nature of the Tyrolean mountains.
This initiative is communicated to our guests and residents every year before New Year’s Eve, with the aim of protecting wildlife, preserving the environment, and avoiding unnecessary disturbances. We hope that visitors and locals alike embrace this approach and join us in promoting mindfulness and care for our surroundings.

Leave Nothing but Footprints – Avoiding Waste in Our Nature
Our mountains are a true treasure. To keep them that way, we ask all visitors to treat nature with care. Please take your trash back down the valley with you—even seemingly “biodegradable” items like banana peels or tissues take much longer to decompose in the wild than you might think.
Reusable water bottles, lunch containers, and a small trash bag make it easy to minimize waste. Together, we can keep the trails clean and ensure that the Tannheim Valley remains a place to breathe and relax for future generations. Thank you for your support!

To make waste prevention even easier, we provide pocket ashtrays and reusable water bottles. These small helpers fit in any backpack and ensure that cigarette butts and single-use plastics never end up in nature in the first place.

Projects

Together for Our Region
Our region thrives on projects implemented in close cooperation with municipalities, partners, and other stakeholders—often across borders. Many of these initiatives are supported by funding programs and share a clear goal: to increase value creation and sustainably improve the quality of life in the valley
