Description:

Enjoy a wonderful hike starting from the beautiful village of Schattwald through the Stuibenbach valley to the Bscheißer.

Directions:
The starting and ending point is the lift parking lot at the Wannenjochbahn in Schattwald. At the eastern end of the parking lot, past the Kneipp facility, the path crosses a narrow footbridge and then immediately ascends to the right. After crossing the stream once, the good gravel path, partly through forest, leads uphill through the Stuibenbach valley. At the valley station of the Stuiben lift, the gravel path goes north to meet the paved road to the Stuiben-Sennalpe shortly after. From the Sennalpe, there is a hiking trail leading up to the 'Güntle', the saddle between Ponten (left) and Bscheißer (right). From the Güntle to the summit of the Bscheißer is not far. The border between Austria and Germany runs directly on the summit. The descent down to the Upper Stuiben (no hut), continuing into the Stuiben valley and back to Schattwald, is well signposted and quite varied to walk.Tip:

Relaxed refreshment at the Stuibenalpe with a hearty snack plate.

But please never forget that the weather in the mountains can change very quickly.
