Description:

Enjoy breathtaking impressions, a wonderful landscape, impressive flora and fauna along the entire route.
The magnificent mountain lakes of the Tannheimer Valley will impress you.

Directions:

Starting from Tannheim with the 8-person gondola to the mountain station, then follow trail no. 31 and 30 towards the Upper Strindenalpe, continue on the Saalfelder Höhenweg trail no. 421 past the Gappenfeldalm towards Schochenspitze, then on to the Landsberger Hut (overnight accommodation available), about 3 hours. Descent via the Upper Traualpe, trail no. 425, to Vilsalpsee near Tannheim, about 1 hour. Return by bus, Tannheimer Alpenexpress (paid) or horse-drawn carriage (only by reservation) is possible from Vilsalpsee to Tannheim.
Rote Spitze (2,130 m)
From the Landsberger Hut to Kastenjoch, trail 421, to Rote Spitze, trail 421a, about 1 hour and back the same way to the hut. Walking time about 1 3/4 hours.
Steinkarspitze (2,015 m)
From the Landsberger Hut to Kastenjoch, Saalfelderweg, trail 421, to Steinkarspitze, easy climbing, about 1 hour. Descent to Steinkarjoch and back to the hut, trail 425/421. Walking time about 1 3/4 hours.


 

Safety guidelines:

It should be noted that mountain sports carry an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful tour planning, there is always a base risk. Tour preparation through endurance sports, appropriate technical training and further education as well as personal caution reduce the risk of accidents and hazards. But please never forget that the weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Stay on the marked hiking trails.

Equipment:

Personal mountain sports equipment must be safe and usable and comply with the respective technical standard. Every hiker is advised to inform themselves about the planned routes from alpine specialist literature or on site.

Getting there

On the A7 motorway at the "Oy-Mittelberg" exit, take the B310 towards Wertach and then to Oberjoch. There follow the signage "Tannheimer Tal" B199, exit Tannheim, Neunerköpfle cable car.


From the Tyrol side via Reutte on the B198 towards Lechtal until Weißenbach, over the Gaichtpass along B199 to the Haldensee exit.


Public Transit

By train to Sonthofen, Pfronten/Ried or Reutte, then by bus to Haldensee.
