The route starts at the paid parking lot at Haldensee. This can also easily be reached by the hiking bus. The path leads us towards Edenbachalpe/Strindenalpe through the Strindental with a view of the crystal-clear, green-blue shimmering Haldensee. First, we reach Edenbachalpe, behind the alpine dairy a path continues over the Saalfelder Höhenweg towards Upper Strindenalpe. Upon arrival, the descent leads towards Usseralpe. The forest road goes gently downwards – also take a look at the Urfall (waterfall) – then goes on over the hamlets Schmieden/Bogen to Tannheim. Or you can go from Usseralpe to the mountain station at Neunerköpfle and take the gondola down to the valley from there. (Last gondola descent at 4:15 pm) Total walking time approx. 5 hours.

Tip:

From the Usseralpe, one of the few alpine dairies, it is also possible to continue hiking towards Neunerköpfle and choose the descent from the mountain station with the 8-seater gondola lift.

Safety guidelines:

Generally valid and usual behavioral rules:
It should be noted that mountain sports carry an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful route planning, there is always a basic risk. Preparation for tours through endurance sports, appropriate technical training and education as well as personal caution reduce the risk of accidents and dangers. But never forget that weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Stay on the marked hiking trails.

Equipment:

Personal mountain sports equipment must be safe and functional and correspond to the respective technical standard. Every hiker is recommended to inform themselves about the planned routes in alpine specialized literature or locally.
