Tyrolean Trail Quality Seal
For two decades, the Tyrolean state government has been awarding the Tyrolean Trail Quality Seal to trail operators under certain conditions.
The Tannheimer Tal is a "cross-country skiing paradise." This is not only confirmed by the ADAC Ski Guide 2008, which nominated the region as one of the top 10 ski areas in the Nordic/Cross-country category. There was also a special award from the state of Tyrol: the "Trail Quality Seal of the state of Tyrol." It is valid for three years and criteria such as number of trails, grooming, orientation, and marking are regularly checked.
The Tannheimer Tal has optimal cross-country skiing conditions with a 140-kilometer-long trail network and an altitude difference of a maximum of 50 meters. The tracks are suitable for both classic style and skating and offer challenges for cross-country skiers of all skill levels.
We start the circular route at the Sport Rief store and follow the eastward trail over the gently rising Nesselwängler fields. Below the Tannheimer Group and the Krinnenspitze, a wide loop is made over the outermost meadows of the valley until we finally reach the starting point again.Tip:
There is a place to stop directly at the lift parking lot in Rudolf's Aprés Ski Club or at the Landgasthof Schuster.Safety guidelines:
Please observe the FIS rules of conduct for cross-country skiers!
A secure command of the sports equipment even under poor snow conditions and good fitness are basic requirements for cross-country skiing.
Choosing the right speed - adjusted to skiing ability and level of fatigue - greatly reduces the risk of accidents and injuries.
Stay on the route: All the routes described here run on groomed trails. So do not leave the route.
The trail map of the Tannheimer Tal makes your route planning easier, shows the distances and helps to estimate the running time.Equipment:
Modern and well-maintained equipment (ski, binding, boot, poles, and clothing) not only provides a significant degree of safety but also makes cross-country skiing much easier. Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) as well as enough fluids should not be forgotten.
