Once you reach the intermediate destination (Reuterwanne summit), you can enjoy the view: To the south, we can see the Wertach valley, the summit of the Sorgschrofen and the peaks of Gaishorn, Grosser Daumen and Grünten as well as the Wertacher Hörnle. To the north, we can see the pre-Alpine Allgäu with Kempten and a view to the east reveals the Ostallgäu and the Zugspitze in the distance. After a short break and enjoying the fantastic view, we continue towards Stubental Alpe. Once there, you can take the direct tarred path down to your destination (Langenschwand parking lot) in the Jungholz countrysideDirections:
The starting point is the parking lot in Langenschwand in Jungholz. We turn off directly at the small chapel onto the Höhenweg (gravel path). After reaching the snowmaking pond, we turn right onto the path to the Reuterwanne (signposted). Following the path past the lower Reuterwanne, we reach our interim destination, the summit of the Reuterwanne, after approx. 1.5 - 2 hours. After a short break and enjoying the view, we first walk a short distance back along the path, at the Obere Alpe Reuterwanne we take the turn-off to the left (also following the signs) towards Alpe Stubental. Here we always follow the good signposting and after a short time we reach Alpe Stubental. From there, we follow the tarred path (which can also be used as a toboggan run in winter) back to our destination, the parking lot in Langenschwand.Tip:
