Already around 1500, according to a letter of indulgence, a chapel "auf der Wies" is mentioned. It was enlarged in the 17th century and in 1699 it was elevated to the status of a benefice church of St. Wolfgang. In 1756 the nave was raised and a new roof truss was added. A fundamental renovation of the church took place in 85 + 89, during which the original neo-Romanesque style of the church was restored.
