Schattwald - Rehbach

It does not always have to be skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing. On nearly 81 kilometers of groomed trails, hikers wander through the snowy fairytale landscape. Cozy huts invite you to stop along the way. Sitting by the fireplace, warming up with a Jaga tea or refueling with a snack for the next few kilometers - this is how you can fully enjoy snow walks.

From the church in Schattwald heading west, before the Kappl district turn left. Pass the gas station into the Steig district and along Rehbachstraße to Rehbach. The return route can be taken the same way or continue via Unterjoch to Oberjoch and Schattwald.

Easy hike, suitable also for families and elderly people, as a shortcut can be taken in the Steig district to return to Schattwald.

It should be noted that there is an increased risk of accidents and injuries even when winter hiking. Special attention must be paid to the condition of the paths, especially in winter. Suitable clothing, good footwear, and possibly hiking poles provide additional safety. Stay on the marked paths.

Modern and well-maintained equipment (shoes, poles, and clothing) not only provides a significant level of safety but also makes winter hiking much easier. Sun protection (high SPF and possibly sunglasses) as well as sufficient fluids should not be forgotten.
