Experience the running and Nordic walking arena Tannheimer Tal
Whether you are a breathless beginner or a well-trained mountain athlete: In the Tannheimer Tal, everyone who wants to move in the fresh air and explore the surrounding mountains on foot will get their money's worth. All active people, from hobby athletes to professionals, face a daily choice: The largest network of trails in Tyrol offers 26 marked routes, which extend over a total of 186 kilometers. There are beginner loops as well as demanding mountain runs. And to make sure all guests know which path corresponds to their condition and demands, a specially developed map and small boards inform about elevation profile, difficulty level and length of the route - the running and Nordic walking map.
Along meadows, over green alpine pastures, by sparkling mountain lakes... Walking and running in the Tannheimer Tal is not only the best training for the body, but especially balm for the soul. The starting points for all those hungry for exercise are located in the six villages of Tannheim, Grän-Haldensee, Nesselwängle-Haller, Zöblen, Schattwald and Jungholz.
From the community center in Schattwald, head west and turn right at the first opportunity, then continue to the church. Here keep left and continue towards the Kappl district, and in the Kappl district turn left, before the Vils bridge turn right and follow the Vils along to the sewage treatment plant. There turn left over the Vils and past the reservoir towards the south. When reaching the paved Rehbach path, turn left until the wooded area, then turn left and continue westwards. After the junction with the road, turn left and go to the hamlet of Krummenbach. From there head east until the paved Rehbach path. Turn right here and before the Steig district turn left and continue to the sewage treatment plant. There keep right and follow the south bank of the Vils to the Vils bridge and cross it. Then return to the starting point.
Tip:A stop at the Ruhehotel Rehbach is perfect for a cold or hot drink.
Safety guidelines:It should be noted that there is a risk of accidents and injuries in running and walking sports. Despite careful route planning, there is always a basic risk. Route preparation through endurance training, appropriate technical training and further education as well as personal caution reduces the risk of accidents and dangers.
Equipment:Personal equipment must be safe and usable and meet the respective technical standard. Everyone is recommended to inform themselves in specialized literature or on site about the planned routes. Full equipment is strongly recommended even for experienced users!

On the A7 motorway, take the "Oy-Mittelberg" exit onto the B310 towards Wertach and then to Oberjoch. There follow the signs "Tannheimer Tal" B199 to the community center of Schattwald. From the Tyrol side via Reutte on the B198 towards Lechtal to Weißenbach, over the Gaicht pass along the B199 to the community center of Schattwald.
Public Transit
By train to Sonthofen, Pfronten/Ried or Reutte, then by bus to Schattwald.
