Information & interesting facts

Short description:
A round full of opportunities to cool off in various bathing ponds, with views of castle ruins and some places to stop for refreshments.
Properties:
  • Loop
Description:
The round offers a picture-book excerpt of the eastern Allgäu pre-Alpine landscape with gentle hills, forests, meadows, and many typical isolated farms, hamlets, and villages. Passing inviting bathing ponds (Schwaltenweiher, Trollweiher, Schönewalder Weiher, or Kögelweiher), to the south one encounters several medieval witnesses with the castle ruins of Freyberg and Eisenberg as well as – in the distance near Pfronten – the Falkenstein ruins. Two Allgäu dairies and several places to stop invite you for a culinary break.Safety guidelines:

  • Always ride at a controlled speed and keep half sight, especially around curves, as obstacles can appear at any time!

  • Be considerate of hikers and pedestrians and only overtake at walking pace!

  • Be mindful of the difficulty level of the trail and accurately assess your experience and skills as a biker! Protect your head with a helmet and check your equipment before starting any bike tour (brakes, bell, light)!

  • Respect barriers and accept that this path primarily serves agricultural and forestry use! Close the pasture gates!

  • Be considerate of nature and wildlife, do not leave the marked route, avoid riding off the open paths, and finish your bike tour before dusk. Do not leave any trash behind!
