It doesn't always have to be skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing. Hikers can roam through the snow-covered fairytale landscape on almost 81 kilometers of cleared trails. Along the way, cozy huts invite you to take a break. Sit by the open fire, warm up with a Jaga tea or fortify yourself for the next few kilometers with a snack - this is how you can enjoy snowy walks to the full.
Because there is so much to discover and see along the 81 kilometers of cleared hiking trails and so much fresh air to breathe that every step becomes a pleasure - with the inns and cafés along the routes offering ample opportunities to recharge your batteries and warm up. If you want to experience something really special, join a guided snowshoe hike. If you want to aim high, the Tannheimer Tal has two options for climbing a summit in winter: the Neunerköpfle in Tannheim with the largest summit book in the Alps or the Gamskopf with the Panorama-Informator in Grän.Directions:
The hike starts at the lift parking lot in Nesselwängle, a central point that impresses with its easy accessibility and breathtaking mountain scenery. From here, you follow a well-maintained trail in the direction of the Krinnenalpe. The trail leads steadily uphill and offers wonderful views of the surrounding snow-covered peaks and the idyllic valley. The clear, fresh air and the wintry silence make the ascent particularly pleasant. After reaching the Krinnenalpe, you can take a short break there and enjoy the peaceful mountain landscape. The way back follows the same route until you reach the lift parking lot in Nesselwängle again.
Tip:Stop off and enjoy the view on the Krinnenalpe.
Safety guidelines:It should be noted that there is also an increased risk of accidents and injuries when hiking in winter. Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the path, especially in winter. Suitable clothing, good footwear and possibly hiking poles provide additional safety. Stay on the marked paths.
Equipment:Up-to-date and well-maintained equipment (shoes, poles and clothing) not only provides a considerable degree of safety but also makes winter hiking much easier. Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) and sufficient liquids should not be forgotten.
On the A7 highway, take the "Oy-Mittelberg" exit on the B310 towards Wertach and Oberjoch. There follow the signs for "Tannheimer Tal" B199, Nesselwängle.
From the Tyrolean side via Reutte on the B198 towards Lechtal to Weißenbach, over the Gaichtpass along the B199 to Nesselwängle.
Public Transit
By train to Sonthofen, Pfronten/Ried or Reutte, then by bus to Nesselwängle.
