It doesn't always have to be skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing. Hikers can roam through the snow-covered fairytale landscape on almost 81 kilometers of cleared trails. Along the way, cozy huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat. Sit by the fireplace, warm up with a cup of Jaga tea, or fortify yourself with a snack for the next few kilometers—this is how you can enjoy snow walks to the fullest.Directions:
The cleared winter hiking trail begins at the lift car park in Nesselwängle near Gasthof Schuster.
After a small stream, the trail climbs to the left towards the climbing forest. Passing this, it descends again, offering the first views of Lake Haldensee. The trail winds down to a fork and leads right along the shore of Lake Haldensee to Haller. At Hotel Haldensee, continue to the chapel in the village and from there follow the sign to Adlerhorst. The forest trail leads pleasantly to the mountain hut with a magnificent view over Lake Haldensee.
The return route follows the same path to Haller, then across wide, snow-covered meadows to Nesselwängle, past the Dreikreuzkapelle chapel and back along the main road. Here, turn left again towards Nesselwängle, parallel to the main road to the bus stop, and through the underpass to reach the starting point.
Safety guidelines:It should be noted that winter hiking also carries an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Particular attention should be paid to trail conditions in winter. Suitable clothing, good footwear, and possibly hiking poles provide additional safety. Stay on the marked trails.Equipment:
Modern and well-maintained equipment (shoes, poles, and clothing) not only provides a considerable degree of safety but also makes winter hiking much easier. Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) and sufficient fluids should not be forgotten.Additional information:
