Meraner Steig

A real natural experience – ideal for connoisseurs, families and anyone who wants to discover the Tannheimer Tal.

On the well-developed forest road, you can comfortably hike from Nesselwängle via the Krinnenalpe to Rauth and finally back to Nesselwängle on the circular hiking route to the valley station of the Krinnenalplift. Starting from Nesselwängle at the valley station of the Krinnenalplift, either ascend via the forest road for about 1 1/2 hours or take the 2-seater chairlift (currently out of operation). From the mountain station Krinnenalpe take the Meraner Steig and descend the forest road to Rauth, about 2 hours. Back on the road, pass the Maria Hilf Chapel (Rauth bus stop) and on the circular hiking route back to Nesselwängle at the valley station of the Krinnenalplift, about 3/4 hour or return to Nesselwängle by hiking bus. Total approx. 4 1/4 hours.

The district of Rauth is located at the eastern end of the Tannheimer Tal and is also called Little Meran by locals, as it belongs to the sunniest spots in the entire valley both in winter and in
summer.
Relax and refresh yourself in one of the dining options along the way.

The Meraner Steig is relatively easy to walk, the entire path is laid with gravel and well developed. However, good footwear is required! Possibly pay attention to sun or rain protection and take something to drink with you.

Good footwear is indispensable despite the good condition of the paths.
