It doesn't always have to be skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing. On nearly 81 kilometers of cleared paths, hikers wander through the snowy fairy-tale landscape. Along the way, cozy huts invite you to stop. Sitting by the fireplace, warming up with a Jaga tea, or strengthening yourself with a snack for the next kilometers - this is how you can fully enjoy snow walks.
Along the approximately 81 kilometers of cleared hiking trails, there is so much to discover and see, so much fresh air to take in, that every step becomes a pleasure
- with inns and cafés along the routes offering extensive opportunities to refresh and warm up. Those who want to experience something very special can join a guided snowshoe hike. Those who want to go high have two options in the Tannheimer Valley to climb a summit even in winter: the Neunerköpfle in Tannheim with the largest summit register in the Alps or the Gamskopf with the panorama informant in Grän.Directions:
The hike starts at the parking lot by the municipal office and initially leads northwards towards St. Wendelin Church. After the church, the route continues to Logerweg. Before the district of Log, turn right and then go left over the Log bridge. Follow the signs to make a large loop back to the bridge and return to Grän at the starting point.
Tip:For photography enthusiasts, a magical mood presents itself at sunrise and sunset. The snow-covered splendor of the meadows is skillfully highlighted by the warm colors of the sky, and the snow-covered trees cast long shadows over the landscape.
Safety guidelines:It should be noted that there is an increased risk of accidents and injuries even during winter hiking. Especially in winter, special attention should be paid to path conditions. Suitable clothing, good footwear, and possibly hiking poles provide additional safety. Stay on marked paths.
Equipment:Modern and well-maintained/serviced equipment (shoes, poles, and clothing) not only brings a considerable level of safety but also makes winter hiking much easier. Sun protection (high protection factor and possibly sunglasses) and enough fluids should not be forgotten.
