Programme in Schattwald
- SAAC Basic & Woman Power Camp
Theory evening for anyone who wants to be safe when out and about in the countryside. On Friday, from 5 p.m. to around 8 p.m., the SAAC professionals will be sharing their knowledge on avalanche awareness, tour planning and risk management in the Schattwald community hall – explained in a clear and practical way. Participation is free of charge and no registration is required.
On Saturday, it's time for some hands-on experience in the snow: together with mountain and ski guides, we'll head out into the terrain. Participants will learn how to correctly assess avalanche risk and apply what they've learned safely. The meeting point for both the Basic and Womam Camps is at 8:45 a.m. in Zöblen at the Rohnenlift. Registration opens on 15 October 2025 at www.saac.at
Don't miss out on this winter highlight! - Torchlight hike to sparks, cauldrons and alpacas
Funken, Kessel & Alpakas" is the name of the event on Friday at 4 p.m. in Kappl 4 – from where we will head straight to a rustic barn in Schattwald, a little-known gem for a relaxing evening under the open sky!
Look forward to a hot vegetarian stew warmed over the fire, accompanied by your own stick bread that you can bake over the embers. Mulled wine and punch will keep you warm, while the cosy atmosphere will put you in a good mood.
Our curious alpacas and llamas will also be there, bringing smiles to your faces and enjoying being fed – perfect for young and old alike!
To round off the evening, we will go on an atmospheric torchlight hike together.
Come along and enjoy an evening of warmth, community and winter cosiness.
