Description:

Experience the running and Nordic walking arena Tannheimer Tal

Whether out of breath beginner or trained mountain sportsman: In the Tannheimer Tal, everyone who likes to move in the fresh air and explore the surrounding mountains on foot gets their money's worth. Every day, all active people, from hobby athletes to professionals, have the agony of choice: Tyrol's largest network of paths offers 26 marked routes, spanning a total of 186 kilometers. Beginner loops are included as well as challenging mountain runs. And so that all guests know which route matches their fitness and requirements, a specially developed map and small signs provide information about altitude profile, difficulty level, and length of the route - the running and Nordic walking map.

Along meadows, over green alpine pastures, past sparkling mountain lakes... Walking and running in the Tannheimer Tal is not only the best training for the body but above all a balm for the soul. The starting points for all those eager to move are in the six towns of Tannheim, Grän-Haldensee, Nesselwängle-Haller, Zöblen, Schattwald, and Jungholz. From here, walkers, Nordic walkers, and runners follow the signposts. They are easy to recognize: little figures with poles. In addition, all routes, like ski slopes, are classified into the categories black, red, and blue. This optimal marking contributed, among other things, to the fact that Europe’s probably most beautiful high valley has officially been called "Running and Walking Competence Center" since 2005.

Directions:
Head north through the district of Katzensteig, then keep left. Continue east on the high path and past Höfersee and the Wiesle Kneipp facility. Shortly before the district of Wiesle, turn left and head west. Then turn right and downhill to the intersection and across the Vils bridge, straight ahead and then left westwards parallel to the federal road back to the starting point.Tip:
