Description:

Tyrolean Trail Quality Seal

For two decades, the Tyrolean state government has awarded the Tyrolean Trail Quality Seal to trail operators who meet certain conditions.

The Tannheimer Tal is a "cross-country skiing paradise." This was not only confirmed by the ADAC Ski Guide 2008, naming the region one of the top 10 ski areas in the Nordic/Cross-country category, but also recognized by the state of Tyrol with a special award: the "Trail Quality Seal of the State of Tyrol." This is valid for three years, and criteria such as the number of trails, grooming, orientation, or markings are regularly checked.

The Tannheimer Tal has an optimal cross-country skiing network with 140 kilometers of trails and a maximum elevation difference of 50 meters. The routes are suitable for both classic style and skating and offer challenges for cross-country skiers of all skill levels.

Directions:
Once you have arrived at the lift parking lot in Nesselwängle, you are ready to start. The circular trail runs westwards behind the houses of the "Schmitte," ascending about 600 meters. Then slightly downhill, after another short ascent, the beautifully located Haldensee comes into view. Nothing stands in the way of an enjoyable descent. Upon reaching the lake, turn left, gradually turning your back to the shore, heading to the forest edge to return eastwards back to the parking lot.Safety guidelines:

Please observe the FIS conduct rules for cross-country skiers!

Secure handling of the sports equipment even under poor snow conditions and good fitness are basic requirements for cross-country skiing. Choosing the right speed - adjusted to your skiing ability and fatigue level - greatly reduces the risk of accidents and injuries.

Stay on the route: All routes described here lead on groomed trails. So do not leave the route.

The Tannheimer Tal trail map makes it easier for you to plan routes, shows distances, and helps estimate travel time.

Equipment:
Up-to-date and well-maintained equipment (skis, bindings, boots, poles, and clothing) not only provides a significant level of safety but also makes cross-country skiing much easier. Don't forget sun protection (high SPF and possibly sunglasses) as well as sufficient fluids.Additional information:
