Füssener Hut - Otto Mayr Hut

The hike to the Füssener Hütte or Otto Mayr Hütte, with the descent via the Gessenwangalm (unmanned), follows easy mountain trails.

From Grän, take the 8-person gondola up to the Füssener Jöchle. The hike begins at the mountain station/Sonnenalm; from there, the trail continues to the Raintaler Joch. The descent follows the slopes down to the Füssener Hütte and/or the Otto Mayr Hütte. Here you’ll find a rich variety of wildlife and alpine flora, making it an ideal place to relax. From the Otto Mayr Hut, follow the same route back for a short distance; then, heading west, begin the ascent to the Hallergehrenjoch. From there, the descent leads past the Gessenwangalm (unmanned). The final stretch follows the forest road back to Grän to the valley station/lift parking lot of the 8-person gondola.

There are places to stop for refreshments and spend the night at both the Füssener Hut and the Otto Mayr Hut. From both huts, you’ll find an extensive network of trails, including hiking, climbing, and summit routes.
