Description:

Beautiful alpine hike to the managed Obere Rossalpe. This hike once again shows us how beautiful nature in the Tannheimer Tal is. After the hike, the wonderful Vilsalpsee invites you for a splash around.

Directions:

We start our hike at the parking lot by the Vilsalpsee and follow the path along the west shore. The ascent already begins here. We pass the small Weltlingshütte, which lies idyllically in the green. The path now becomes a bit steeper, but remains well walkable and pleasant. Through a beautiful mixed forest, we steadily continue ascending. After a while, we reach the Obere Rossalpe, where we enjoy a well-deserved break with a hearty meal. Well strengthened, we begin the return journey and follow the familiar path back to the starting point at the Vilsalpsee.

It should be noted that mountain sports carry an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful tour planning, a basic risk always remains.
Preparation through endurance training, appropriate technical training and further education, as well as personal caution reduce the risk of accidents and dangers.
But please never forget that the weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Stay on the marked hiking trails.

Personal mountain sports equipment must be safe and functional and comply with the respective technical standards. Every hiker is advised to inform themselves about the planned routes from alpine specialist literature or on site.

Getting there

On the A7 motorway, take the "Oy-Mittelberg" exit onto the B310 towards Wertach and then Oberjoch. There, follow the signs for "Tannheimer Tal" B199, exit Tannheim, Neunerköpfle mountain railway. From the Tyrolean side via Reutte on the B198 towards Lechtal to Weißenbach, over the Gaichtpass along the B199 to the Tannheim exit.


Public Transit

Take the train to Sonthofen, Pfronten/Ried, or Reutte, then continue by bus to Tannheim. Bus stop at the roundabout. From Tannheim, take the bus to the Vilsalpsee.


Parking

You can park at the valley station of the Neunerköpfle gondola - paid parking.
