Jungholz is Austria's smallest enclave with around 300 inhabitants. It lies in the middle of untouched nature and is known as an insider tip and starting point for unique outdoor routes.

This is a moderate hiking route to Pfeifferberg (1457 meters) with a guarantee of beautiful views of the Allgäu and Tyrolean mountain world in the calmest atmosphere. There are numerous opportunities to stop for refreshment and sights along the way.

Directions:

The starting point of this hiking route is the ski lift parking lot in Jungholz. From here we start towards the church and walk along the Schnitzerweg to the district of Langenschwand, passing some hosts and holiday apartments. At the end of the village, we keep left and follow the signs to Alpe Stubental. Here we are always on paved roads. Past the Stubental Alpe, we follow the signs to Pfeifferberg. During the ascent, more and more rugged peaks appear in the southwest behind the forested hills. After about 30-40 minutes, we reach the destination, Pfeifferberg. After a short break and enjoying the view, we return along the same path back to Langenschwand. At the Langenschwand chapel, we turn right towards the Höhenweg. The panoramic trail runs above Jungholz to the district of Gießenschwand. After a short rest at the snowmaking pond with a view of the Allgäu Alps, we walk through the district of Gießenschwand towards Jungholz church, the starting point of the route.
