Short description:
Start at the lakeside of Lake Haldensee, on the southwest side.
Initial ascent through the forest, then along the Strindenbach past the Edenbachalpe to the Lower Strinden Alps and further to the Upper Strinden Alps. 
The route continues uphill over the Strindenscharte and then with a slight descent to the Gappenfeldalpe. 

The route covers a distance of 8.6 kilometers and 760 meters in elevation. 

Starting point: Lakeside of Lake Haldensee. Southwest side
Destination: Gappenfeldalpe
Getting there

Drive from Reutte or Sonthofen via the B199 into the Tannheimer Valley. Follow the signs toward Haldensee in the valley.


Public Transit

Regional bus lines operate in the Tannheimer Valley, serving stops near the starting point. Arrival by bus is recommended.

Parking available at the paid parking lot at the lake bath (parking lot at the lake bath) near the starting point.
