Description:

Start in Tannheim, Rossberg, Sägerklause via Grän, Tannheim, Zöblen, Schattwald across the NATIONAL BORDER to Oberjoch and Unterjoch. After that, back on Austrian territory through Jungholz, before re-entering German soil. Past Wertach to Oy-Mittelberg, Petersthal, Kranzegg (1st filling station), Rettenberg, Immenstadt, Bihlerdorf, via Hüttenberg to Ofterschwang, Bolsterlang up to Obermaiselstein to 2nd filling station. Germany’s highest mountain pass road begins here with the Riedbergpaß at 1,407 meters. After the challenging descent, reach Balderschwang and the 3rd filling station. After that, the NATIONAL BORDER is crossed into Vorarlberg and it goes on past towns in the Bregenzerwald, Hittisau, Lingenau, Großdorf, Egg, Andelsbuch, Mellau until Schoppernau (4th filling station). The Schröckenpass follows with a speedy descent to Warth to the 5th filling station. Further on to the STATE BORDER to Tyrol and on State Road B198 to Steeg, Holzgau, Stockach (6th filling station), Bach, Elbigenalp, Häselgehr, Elmen, Stanzach until Weißenbach where the 7th filling station is reached. From here turn left on to the Road B199 over the Gaichtpass, past Nesselwängle and the Haldensee back to Tannheim.


 

Directions:

Start in the center of Tannheim via Grän, Tannheim, Zöblen, Schattwald over the STATE BORDER to Oberjoch and Unterjoch. On German territory, the route passes through Wertach, Kranzegg, Rettenberg, Immenstadt and Altmummen (1st refreshment stop). The detour into the scenic Gunzesried Valley then leads out again to Bihlerdorf and via Hüttenberg towards Ofterschwang, Bolsterlang to Obermaiselstein for the 2nd refreshment stop. This is where Germany's highest pass road begins with the Riedberg Pass at 1,407 meters. After the difficult descent, you reach Balderschwang and the 3rd refreshment stop. Afterwards, the STATE BORDER to Vorarlberg is passed and Egg is reached through the villages of Bregenzerwald, Hittisau, Lingenau and Müselbach. A right turn to Schwarzenberg and further along the Bregenzer Ache upstream through Mellau, Au (4th refreshment stop) and Schoppernau to the foot of the Schröcken Pass, which leads up to an altitude of 1,676 meters above sea level. This is followed by a fast descent to Warth to the 5th refreshment stop. Continue over the LANDESGRENZE to Tyrol and on the B198 to Steeg, Holzgau, Schönau (6th refreshment stop), Bach, Elbigenalp, Häselgehr, Elmen, Stanzach to Weißenbach, where the 7th refreshment stop is reached. Then turn left onto the B199 over the Gaichtpass, past Nesselwängle and the Haldensee lake back to Tannheim.
The route is 214 kilometers long and covers 3,500 meters in altitude.

Tip:

Every cyclist over age 18 (age) is allowed to start. Participants 16 years of age can take part in the 130 km distance when accompanied by their parents, or with the written consent of a parent or guardian. Paying the entry fee, the participant accepts all comprehensive eligibility requirements of the organizer. Participation is at your own risk!
In addition, each participant accepts that they will not hold the organizers liable for any civil and criminal responsibility caused to persons and/or property damage of participants which were caused by the participant.
The participant declares that he/she has sufficiently trained for the "Rad-Marathon Tannheimer Tal", is physically healthy and their health condition has been confirmed by a doctor.
The organizer is allowed to shorten the route and alter the time limit if there is bad weather or other unforeseen events..
If a risk exists, a stoppage or cancellation of the event by the authorities is also possible.
The organizers can expel participants from the contest who do not abide by the regulations.

Safety guidelines:

It should be noted that there is an increased risk of accidents and injuries in road cycling. Despite careful tour planning, there is always a basic risk. Tour preparation through endurance sports, appropriate training and further education as well as personal prudence reduce the risk of accidents and risks.

Equipment:

A Roadbike is recommended.


Wearing a crash helmet is compulsory.


HEADLIGHT is required through the tunnels on the Riedbergpaß and in Bregenzerwald (Vorarlberg).
Support vehicles are not welcome - please comply !!

Getting there
The quickest and easiest and toll-free route to the Tannheim Valley by car leads via the A7 highway. Turn off at Exit "Oy-Mittelberg", turn right and follow the signs along state road B 310 heading toward Wertach/Oberjoch for ca. 15 kilometers. In Oberjoch turn left into the Tannheim Valley.Public Transit
