A classic "family via ferrata" in the medium difficulty range, where the "non-climbing" part of the family can comfortably ascend to the summit via the hiking trail - at the top they meet and together enjoy the fantastic view of the Allgäu and Tyrolean Alps.
At the top station of the Iselerbahn, signs point us to the via ferrata towards the Iselergipfel. After about 25 minutes we are at the rope point. First a little downhill, then crossing the flank, some steps, cross passages, rock bands and also slight overhangs - this is how we reach the exit of the first part. We can return to the starting point or master the second part of the via ferrata to Kühgungkopf and then walk back to the top station or descend via the Wiedhagalpe to Oberjoch. Both parts of the via ferrata are completely secured with ropes and have difficulty levels B and C.
This via ferrata was newly created in 2009.
It should be noted that mountaineering may involve an increased risk of accidents and injuries. Despite careful route planning, a basic risk always remains. Tour preparation through endurance sports, appropriate technical training and further education as well as personal prudence reduces the risk of accidents and injuries.
But please never forget that the weather in the mountains can change very quickly. Stay on the marked hiking trails.
Complete via ferrata equipment (via ferrata set, harness and helmet) also absolutely recommended for experienced climbers!
