Hiking suggestions with wheelchair

  • From Tannheim to Vilsalpsee you need approx. one hour, this way is asphalted and at the lake there are two guesthouses. There are no excellent disabled toilets here. The Vilsalpsee is located in a nature reserve and here are a few things to consider: Driving to the lake is forbidden from 10 to 17 o'clock! Exception: Persons with walking disabilities from 70%, entitled persons (e.g. agriculture and forestry). If you drove to Vilsalpsee by car before 10 a.m., you may of course return at any time. Alternatively you can take the bus, the horse-drawn carriage or the Alpenexpress back to Tannheim or both.
  • From Schattwald you can reach the destination Rehbach. The way is asphalted, the last part is a little steeper, you need approx. 1.5 hours. oath.
  • From Zöblen to the Gasthof Zugspitzblick you also need about 3/4 hours, but this way is rather steep, but also reachable by car.
  • From Grän you reach Tannheim in about one hour. There are several hiking trails here which do not have any appreciable gradients. The paths are partly gravelled.
  • Around the Haldensee there is a gravel path. You circle the lake in about one hour. The cycle and hiking path through the Tannheimer Tal is flat and asphalted and can be easily accessed by wheelchair.
  • The letter path in Jungholz starts at the lift parking lot in Jungholz. The letters of the village name are placed at various points in the village. All points can thus be reached via a circular path. The path is asphalted and wheelchair accessible. Duration approx. 1.5 hours.

Parking with disabled pass

If the aforementioned parking facilities are used, it is necessary to clearly display the identification card in the vehicle behind the windscreen when parking and to show it on request when stopping.

Attention
Whether a parkin fee has to be paid is up to the municipality. In most federal states, however, parking is free of charge for holders of a parking permit for disabled persons according to § 29b StVO.
These regulations also apply to drivers of vehicles, while they carry a disabled person who has a parking permit. 

Jungholz: Free parking on the public parking lot of the municipality and at the ski lift parking lot - whether with or without a disabled person's pass.

Schattwald: Parking on the public parking lot of the municipality free of charge, with visible identification. Parking spaces at the Schattwald lift station are not free of charge (winter operation).

Zöblen: Free parking on the public parking lot of the municipality, with visible identity card. Parking spaces at the Zöblen lift station are not free of charge.

Tannheim: Parking on municipal parking lots free of charge with visible identification. Parking spaces at the Neunerköpfle lift station are signposted and larger, but not free of charge.

Grän: Parking on municipal parking lots free of charge with visible ID. Attention - parking behind the Haldensee may not be free of charge! Lift parking in Grän an der Sonnenbergbahn is generally free of charge. Parking spaces are indicated.

Nesselwängle: With visible identification no parking fees are due, not even at the lift station Nesselwängle.
