On the go with a racing bicycle

22 Road cycling tours with a total of 2,500 kilometers and easy-to-read maps

Among cyclists, the Tannheim Valley has long been well-known in part due to the "Tour of Austria" which passed through the valley with its entourage in 2001. In 2005, cyclists on the "Bavarian Tour" rode through Tyrolean soil on the first stage, and were rewarded with the mountain stage Tannheim Valley and the mountains stage Jungholz classification. In 2007, the "Germany Tour" rolled through the Tannheim Valley, and even the pros were charmed with the scenery in the "most beautiful high valley in Europe" in the Allgäu Alps. Lush green meadows, the Haldensee and beautiful mountain scenery accompanied the professional cyclists on their racing kilometers.
For planning a route, the interactive map is a great help. There you can find information on distances, duration and altitude profiles.

Thus, the Tannheim Valley has been touted as an ideal region for goal-oriented training or longer distance tours. "The Tannheim Valley is an ideal starting point for long bike tours in the surrounding regions, such as the neighboring Allgäu, Lake Constance or the Arlberg", says Michael Keller, Managing Director of the Tannheim Valley Tourism Board. The "Rad-Marathon Tannheimer Tal" is one of the annual sports highlights.

In the Tannheim Valley, in addition to the many ideal biking starting points, cyclists will find a wide range of suitable accommodations. From the 5-star luxury resort, to quaint private rooms, you can choose your accommodation, and after a wonderful bike tour, unwind and recharge your batteries- simply enjoying vacation time in the Tannheim Valley in Tirol.

At Whitsun and during the cycling marathon week, the "Racing Bike Weeks" take place in the Tannheim Valley.
