On 01 April the fishing season starts in the Tannheimer Tal

Angler feel at ease in the Tannheimer Tal. An excellent fish population in marvellous mountain scenery turns the Tyrolese high valley into a real hot tip. Moreover, most of the seven fishing waters are not in private possession. With a fishing permission and upon presentation of a sports fishing passport, you may therefore go fishing until your bait run out.

Be it at the Haldensee, the Fließwasser Haldensee, the Vilsalpsee, the Vils-Ach-Bach and the Fischwasser Zöblen, the Greither Weiher, the Fischwasser Weißenbach or the Nesselwängler Ache – sports fisher find best conditions with different degrees of difficulty in the Tannheimer Tal. The Fließwasser Handensee, for example, is an easy fishing water, whereas fishing in the Vilsalpsee (on an altitude of 1168 meters) requires some expert fishing knowledge: the mountain lake becomes deep very quickly. The reward for all the efforts are not only best chances for a good haul, but also the view of the surrounding mountains.
